Yet you drive safe but you can’t control other driver’s negligent driving ending in an accident, you can control the damage occurred in accidents by following Do’s & Don’t list after an accident.


Do stay and record

You must not leave the spot in any condition as other party might erase/ modify all evidence to blame you for car accident. Apart this, you should note every details available on the collision spot.

Do call medical help

Immediately call medical help and request for medical examination after a car accident even though if you don’t have major injuries. The medical examination report serves two purposes – first to analyze all physical injuries, secondly cementing your insurance claim.

Do inform to police

Informing police is mandatory after every accident. You should describe the place to reporting officer and receive a copy of police report. This is an essential document in car insurance claim.

Do take pictures

It’s one of most crucial task right after accident. You should take photographs of the spot from each and every angle including surrounding environment. It is used to describe the exact location and damage of the accident.

Do exchange the details with driver

Both of you should share contact details, insurance information for future use. You must exchange of phone numbers, contact address, etc.

Do speak with an accident/ injury attorney

It is the best method to defend yourself against any legal claim resulted due to car accidents. They will guide you whether you are a victim or the offender. They help to negotiate the settlement out of the court to save money and time with minimum efforts.
